About us
The students association of political science is an independent student representative body at the Institute for Political Science in Tübingen and is open to all students.
In theory, all students in a department belong to the students association. In practice, however, the student council is made up of those who participate in it. So you can simply drop by the meetings and working groups and get involved; you don’t have to be formally “accepted” or elected.
As the students association, we take on a variety of tasks: On the one hand, we organize opportunities for students, such as the fresh(wo)mens week or first-year hut, or PoWi get-togethers and clubhouse parties for all PoWi students. We also organise DudLs (debates under the linden tree) together with the POLIS support association. In addition, we represent students on the institute level, which means we also advocate for good teaching, etc. We are also available to answer any questions you may have. You can reach us by email (fs-politik[at]uni-tuebingen.de) or send us a DM on Instagram (@fachschaft.politik.tuebingen).
But being part of the student council isn’t just about work – ultimately, we’re also a group of friends who do things together and have fun.
The three cornerstones of our work as a student council are:
(1) Representing students in university politics
(2) Providing advice for students and prospective students
(3) Actively shaping everyday life at the institute
Would you like to get involved? Our meetings always take place on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. in the basement (U2) of the IfP. We welcome everyone, regardless of whether you are a major, minor, teacher training or Master’s student. Beware however, that our sessions will be in German.
